AWARD WINNERS














OFOA People's Choice and Industry Choice Awards

Each year patrons of the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale have the opportunity to vote towards 'The People's Choice Awards'. Winners are chosen from the ballots that patrons submit during the event. Ballots are totaled and the winners are announced just prior to the end of the event on Saturday. All attending patrons receive one ballot slip, with their souvenir glass. Each ballot slip lists the five categories:
Best Beer
Best Beverage
Best Booth
Best Band and
Best Food


Since 2004, the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale Society has also been host to the 'Industry Choice Awards', where between three to five industry judges sample the micro-brews at the event. The winners are chosen on the basis of the an industry accepted point system and categories:
~ Aroma (12);
~ Appearance (3);
~ Flavour (20);
~ Mouth Feel (5);
~ Overall (10) for a total of 50 points.



2010 People's Choice Award Winners:

BEST BEER ~ Tree Brewing - Dopplebock Captivator
A deep brown, reddish hue with a sweet aroma. Hints of toffee, light caramel and hazelnut lead to a clean, smooth finish. Abv 8%


BEST BEVERAGE ~ Vincor’s VEX Electric Blue Lemonade
An electric blend of blue caracao flavour (sweet orange) and lime.


BEST BOOTH ~ Alexander Keith’s

BEST BAND ~ Malibu Knights

BEST FOOD ~ Sages & Vines Bistro



2010 Industry Choice Award Winners:

MACRO – Bravo Beer - Triple Karmeliet

MICRO – Central City – Red Racer ESB
The use of crystal malts lends this beer its flavour and colour profile. Tempered with hops from the United Kingdom, this English bitter is an easy drinking, smooth red ale.



2009 People's Choice Award Winners:

BEST BEER ~ Crannóg Ales’ Backhand of God Stout (Certified Organic) from Sorrento, BC

BEST BEVERAGE ~ Vincor’s VEX On the Beach
popular Sex on the Beach flavour combination of Orange, Peach, Cranberry and Coconut ranked #3 in research with 61% ranking it appealing or very appealing. This is a simple, but effective, cocktail that pleases the sugar junky masses and is very well known, being introduced in the early 1980’s.
